8 Mar 2010 - Getting Noticed

How do I get my website ranked top of search engines?

This is one of the hardest things when it comes to managing and maintaning a website. How can I get people to visit my website without spending a small fortune, well in short there is no quick and easy answer. What it takes is alot of dedication, hard work and most of all patience.

You can and should always keep your website up to date, this seems fairly obvious but you'd be surprised at how many people don't keep on top of some of the most basic and ultimately important key information on their sites.

Starting out is probably the worst time, you've bought the domain name you wanted, got someone to design you a smart looking website and then you sit back and think "wow" that's it, great job done. Wrong!

Imagine the annoyance of typing your chosen domain name into the likes of google and other search engines only to find you're nowhere to be seen, you try the 2nd page, then the 3rd still no show. Ah hah I know I'll try just pages from the UK that's bound to work, whooops no, wrong again. As an example a domain name like www.philipscars.co.uk should be at the top of the page when googled, however because philipscars is a new domain and is still in the embryo stage of its internet life then this doesn't happen.

So what should I do? Well, what you should try and do is write as much about your website as possible. What you add should be important and meaningfull, try and be creative and informative about the services you provide.

Salvage Cars will cover this article in more depth in the future.
